Safety Systems Built by Someone
Who's Actually Run a Mine

Safety management systems written by people who have never operated a mine produce documents. Systems written by someone who has managed live operations, dealt with real incidents and been accountable for real people produce compliance.

Practical Safety and Risk Compliance Frameworks

Mining WHS legislation compliance — systematic compliance review and management under each jurisdiction's mining safety framework:

  • WACompliance under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022, in force from 31 March 2022 and replacing the repealed Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994.
  • NSWCompliance under the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013 and the WHS (MPS) Regulation 2022, administered by the NSW Resources Regulator.
  • QLDCompliance under the Coal Mining Safety and Health Act 1999 (CMSHA) and Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 (MQSHA), administered by Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ).
  • VICCompliance under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and Part 5.3 of the OHS Regulations 2017, administered by WorkSafe Victoria.
  • SA / NT / TASCompliance under the harmonised WHS Acts in each jurisdiction.

Principal Hazard Management Plans and Major Mining Hazard assessments — preparation of PHMPs under WA, NSW, QLD and harmonised-WHS frameworks, and Major Mining Hazard safety assessments under Part 5.3 of the VIC OHS Regulations 2017. Covers principal mining hazards including ground or strata control, inundation, fire and explosion, explosives handling, spontaneous combustion, and processing hazards.

Mine Safety Management Systems (MSMS / SHMS / SMS) — building practical, auditable safety management systems that meet the jurisdiction-specific requirements: MSMS under the WA WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022, Safety and Health Management Systems (SHMS) under NSW WHS (MPS) and QLD CMSHA/MQSHA frameworks, Part 5.3 SMS for VIC prescribed mines, and equivalent systems under harmonised WHS jurisdictions. Built to satisfy regulatory inspection and operate as genuine site management tools.

Hazard and risk register development — site-specific hazard identification, risk assessment and control documentation.

Safety audit and gap assessment — independent review of existing safety systems against legislative requirements and best practice.

Incident investigation support — support for internal investigations and regulatory notification obligations following safety incidents.

Contractor management frameworks — development of contractor safety management requirements and induction systems.
